Richard K. Critchlow was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1966. He received a J.D. in 1965 from the University of California, Hastings College of Law. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California, Berkeley, in 1962.

He worked in San Francisco as a solo practitioner and as an associate in a boutique firm in the Financial District. In 1982 Richard joined forces with Robert Diskint and launched their firm, Critchlow & Diskint, in Sausalito, Marin County. Richard has lengthy criminal defense experience in San Francisco and Marin County. He has a reputation for aggressively pursuing a favorable resolution of criminal charges against his clients. He specializes in defending persons charged with sexual misconduct, molestation, and domestic violence.

His felony criminal jury trials have been the subject of much media coverage over the years. He has represented many clients in family law matters, emphasizing child custody disputes. His family law clients seek him out for mature, experienced and sound lawyering. The senior partner of Critchlow & Diskint has successfully litigated employment discrimination claims, including workplace sexual harassment, will and trust contests, sexual molestation, and bodily injury claims. Richard was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. He is the son and grandson of Utah lawyers. When he was a boy he had a horse named “Paint”.

Robert Diskint

Robert Diskint was admitted to the New York Bar in 1970 and the State Bar of California in 1979. He graduated from Cornell University in 1966 and NYU School of Law (one of the top five law schools in the country) in 1969.

He worked as an associate at a Wall Street firm and then as an entertainment lawyer in Manhattan before becoming a public defender in Brooklyn for seven years. He handled every kind of criminal case imaginable and gained a wealth of trial experience. Since coming to California and forming Critchlow & Diskint with Richard Critchlow in 1982 he has continued to represent individuals and businesses in all matters of litigation, both criminal and civil.

He has tried more than fifty criminal and civil jury cases to verdict and has consistently obtained substantial recoveries (including many seven figure amounts) for his personal injury clients. He has extensive experience in business, employment, real estate & construction, and will & trust litigation as well as other areas of civil litigation. He has tried every kind of criminal case, with substantial experience in DUI and domestic violence cases.
